Research of 2,000 adults shows city residents spend one hour and 17 minutes outside daily, over 10 minutes more than suburban dwellers. However, 51% of urban residents use this time mainly for commuting rather than nature engagement, compared to just 16% in towns and villages. The study reveals growing generational disconnection from nature, with 44% of Gen Z and 36% of Millennials feeling less connected than older generations. Two-thirds of Gen Z admit sometimes going days without stepping outside. The survey found 30% believe there’s a nature deficit in media they consume. Bad weather remains the biggest barrier to outdoor time at 37%. (Story URL)
