Research involving 2,000 adults shows 40% have falsely claimed to be younger, reducing their age by an average of four years. The survey found 65% have pretended to be younger while 81% have claimed to be older to appear mature. Pubs were the most common location for age deception at 44%, followed by nightclubs at 41% and dating apps at 21%. Sixteen percent maintained their false age for over six months, while 19% provided incorrect ages on their birthdays. Half (52%) love it when theirs comes around, with 38% liking the excuse to spend quality time with loved ones.
