A survey of 2,000 college football fans found that 35% would choose to attend their team’s biggest rivalry game over a friend’s wedding. SEC fans are the most likely to watch every game (37%). Fans of the American Athletic Conference travel the farthest, an average of 1,125 miles per year. Many have extreme rituals, like “sleeping in my jersey” or “bathing in hot sauce” before games. Despite losses, 92% of fans say they would remain loyal to their team, with ACC and Big Ten fans most devoted.
