A Talker Research survey of 2,000 Gen Z Americans reveals one-third identify as planners who budget and track spending, while 25% call themselves value-seekers who research before purchasing. Only 12% describe themselves as spontaneous buyers. The survey shows 64% regularly consider their financial future, with 70% calling their money approach realistic. Nearly half contributed to savings in the past year, while 45% live with family to save money and cook at home rather than order takeout. For clothing, 58% mix new and secondhand items. Affirm’s Vishal Kapoor stated, “It’s time to retire the Gen Z caricature. Gen Z isn’t reckless or disengaged with their finances — they’re intentional about how, when and why they spend.” (Story URL)
