The Rev. Jesse Jackson has been hospitalized in Chicago for a neurodegenerative condition, his organization, the Rainbow PUSH Coalition, announced on Wednesday. Less than half of U.S. households now consider religion important, a 17% drop over the past decade, according to a new Gallup poll. In 2015, two-thirds of adults said religion played a key role in their daily lives. That figure fell to 49% in 2025, the largest decline recorded by any nation since 2007. The Internal Revenue Service announced higher contribution limits for retirement accounts in 2026. Workers may contribute up to $24,500 to 401(k) plans, an increase of $1,000, and up to $7,500 to IRAs, a $500 rise. For people age 50 and older, the 401(k) catch-up limit will rise to $8,000, up $500. Those ages 60 to 63 can add another $11,250, unchanged from 2025. (Story URL)
