New research finds attraction extends far beyond facial features. An international team studied 61 participants who provided photos, videos, voice recordings, and body odor samples collected through sweat pads during exercise. When researchers examined each trait separately, voice emerged as the strongest predictor of attractiveness, while body odor showed the weakest connection to physical appearance. The findings challenge earlier research focusing on facial symmetry and average features as primary attraction factors. Mental health professional Francesca Tighinean identified five signs people are more attractive than they realize, including the “eyebrow flash” when others see them, receiving extra help due to the “halo effect,” rarely getting compliments because others assume they know they’re attractive, frequent staring from strangers, and people expressing surprise at their insecurities.
