People start to miss home just 5 days into a vacation, new research reveals. A study of 2,000 adults found a third reach a point where they long for the comforts of home – their own space, bed, and routines. While some miss local favorites like the corner chip shop, 55% consider themselves homebodies by nature. One in five have even cut a trip short to return home sooner. Nearly half (46%) say not having their home comforts is the main reason for missing home. Yet, many pack their own tea bags (31%), towels (27%), and even pillows (8%). Despite the airport stress and luggage worries, 52% say returning home is the best part of a holiday. 75% feel there’s no place like home, and 38% would transport their abode to their destination if they could.
